Diary of a wimpy kid
When my son grabbed this book at his school’s book fair, I had my doubts – it was a chapter book about middle school, and he wasn’t there yet. However, I’m thrilled I trusted his choice. Now, we own four books from the series and plan to read them all. The best part? You can jump into any book in the series without following a specific order. We started in the middle, circled back, ventured forward, and just finished the last one. I genuinely hope the author keeps writing because this is the most excited I’ve been about a fiction book in ages. I even enjoyed it myself, playing the audio version when my son was sick or during our car rides since last December. It’s entertaining, funny, and sprinkled with valuable lessons. We had a few moments with adult humor, like the plumber joke, where I had to delicately explain things to my son. Some concepts were new to him, prompting insightful discussions. Well-written, easy to follow, with cool illustrations- truly a delightful read for both kids and adults alike.
